Lane closings planned at the George Washington Bridge and Holland Tunnel
PATH World Trade Center open this weekend; Trains operate between WTC and Exchange Place
Face coverings required for anyone using Port Authority facilities to prevent spread of COVID-19
Lanes will be closed this week at the George Washington Bridge and Holland Tunnel for ongoing construction and repair projects.
As a reminder to the traveling public, face coverings are required for anyone using Port Authority facilities to help protect fellow passengers and employees from the spread of COVID-19, including PATH trains and stations; the World Trade Center transportation hub; the Midtown Bus Terminal and George Washington Bridge Bus Station; the Port Authority’s airports and on AirTrain.
George Washington Bridge:
- From 8 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, two westbound lanes of the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed.
- From 9 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 5 a.m. Saturday, May 30, all southbound lanes on Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee, N.J., will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 30, all eastbound lanes of the lower level and two eastbound lanes of the lower level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 30, one eastbound lane of the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed.
- From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 30, one westbound lane of the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed.
- From 9 p.m. Saturday, May 30, to 10 a.m. Sunday, May 31, two westbound lanes of the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed.
Holland Tunnel:
- Due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed on Friday, May 29, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning. Closures will resume on Monday, June 1, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, and on multiple overnights each week through spring 2022. - From Sunday, May 31, through Thursday, June 4, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning, one westbound lane will be closed for ongoing repairs.
PATH:
- PATH’s World Trade Center station will be open this weekend, and PATH service will operate between WTC and Exchange Place.
- As a reminder, the 9th Street and 23rd Street stations are closed overnights from midnight to 5 a.m. through the duration of the emergency orders. Nearby PATH stations at Christopher Street, 14th Street and 33rd Street remain open 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted.
