Lane Closings Planned at the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and Outerbridge Crossing

Face Coverings Required in All Port Authority Facilities, Including Airports, Midtown Bus Terminal and on AirTrain

Lanes will be closed this week at the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and Outerbridge Crossing.

As a reminder for any passengers or motorists traveling through Port Authority facilities, some restrictions and service changes remain in place to protect the health and safety of employees and the public. Face coverings are required for anyone using Port Authority facilities, including PATH trains and stations; the World Trade Center transportation hub; the Midtown Bus Terminal and George Washington Bridge Bus Station; the Port Authority’s airports and on AirTrain.

Domestic travelers entering New York or New Jersey are asked to take a traveler survey, self-quarantine or obtain a COVID-19 diagnostic test, depending on the state and travel circumstances. Updated guidance for travelers is available here for New York and New Jersey.

For international travelers, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) require a negative COVID-19 test for anyone entering the U.S. from abroad. Prior to departure, international travelers must be tested, and in line with the CDC recommendations, should be tested again 3 to 5 days after arrival in the U.S. and plan to self-isolate for 7 days at their final destination.

International travelers who are fully vaccinated should follow quarantine guidelines according to the requirements of the local jurisdiction. Travelers should contact their airline or visit the CDC website for details. Travelers can find COVID-19 information for their destination state, local, territorial, and tribal communities here to make informed decisions, protect themselves, and reduce transmission before, during, and after travel.

George Washington Bridge:

A ramp to the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway near the George Washington Bridge will remain closed for repairs to a retaining wall. Eastbound motorists exiting at Riverside Drive or heading to the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway are advised to take the upper level of the bridge. Access to the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway remains unaffected. Westbound motorists are encouraged to exit at 181st Street off the bridge’s lower level for the Henry Hudson Parkway or Riverside Drive.
From 11 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway ramp to all eastbound lanes on the lower level will be closed. Motorists must exit at 178th Street.
From 11 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, the lower level eastbound ramp to the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway and the 178th Street exit will be closed.
From 11 p.m. Saturday, April 23, to 9 a.m. Sunday, April 24, three westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed.
From 11 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 24, one lane of the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway ramp to upper level westbound lanes will be closed.
From 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, all eastbound lanes on the lower level will be closed.
From 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, all eastbound lanes of the lower level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed. Motorists traveling eastbound to the Bronx should use the Washington Bridge.
From 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, one lane of the upper level eastbound exit ramp for 178th Street will be closed.
From 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 8 a.m. Saturday, April 24, all westbound lanes to the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway will be closed.
On Saturday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., one westbound lane to the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway will be closed.
On Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., one lane of the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway ramp to lower level westbound lanes will be closed.

Holland Tunnel:

Due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed on Monday, April 26, from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, and on multiple overnights each week through spring 2022. At all hours from Friday, April 23, through Thursday, April 29, the right turn lane from Hudson Street onto Canal Street in Manhattan will be closed.
From 11 p.m. Sunday, April 25, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 26, one eastbound lane will be closed.
From Sunday, April 25, to Thursday, April 29, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning, one westbound lane will be closed.

Lincoln Tunnel:

On Saturday, April 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., New York-bound traffic exiting the tunnel will be restricted to northbound Dyer Avenue for all vehicles in the tunnel’s left lane, and southbound Dyer Avenue for all vehicles in the tunnel’s right lane.

Outerbridge Crossing:

On Sunday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., one westbound lane will be closed.
From 10 p.m., Thursday April 29, to 5 a.m. Friday, April 30, one westbound lane will be closed.

PATH:

The southwest entrance to the PATH Harrison station will be closed at all hours to accommodate demolition work ahead of a renovation of the station. During construction, riders will be required to use traffic signal pedestrian crossings at Angelo Cifelli Drive and Guyon Drive to access a corresponding station house on the opposite side of Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard.
Customers who use the WTC PATH station during overnights should use the entrances at Fulton Street or Vesey Street via the North Concourse in the 2 World Trade Center Transit Lobby. Oculus access will be limited overnight from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for enhanced cleaning and the safety and security of customers due to reduced traffic volumes. As a reminder, the 9 Street and 23 Street stations are closed from 11 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning for maintenance. Nearby PATH stations at Christopher Street, 14 Street and 33 Street remain open 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted.
